"Black Bart"
We are delighted to introduce you to Black Bart, our first bear in a new collection called "Pieces of Eight". The reasoning behind this name is that his body is made of eight pieces of mohair in the Harlequin style. Pieces of Eight in my mind led to the thought of Pirates and so all these bears will have Pirate names - well it made sense to me! Black Bart was the most successful pirate of the Golden Age of Piracy which was from 1690 to 1730. He is believed to have captured over 470 vessels during his career! Our Black Bart is an adorable 4" bear made in four different colours. His body is made of eight pieces of short, velvety soft, German alpaca in dark red and sage green. His arms, legs and ears are made in really soft, deep black German mohair whilst his head is made of short, white Hembold mohair. This combination of fur really works well, he is a very smart looking little bear with a sweet face. We have filled him with steel shot for weight, he has shiny black English glass eyes and his nose is stitched in dark red thread highlighted in black thread. I do hope that you like this bear, our first offering of the New Year. Isn't he adorable? Black Bart costs £42 plus postage.
Please note that as with all our bears, Black Bart is not a toy and is not suitable for children.
