Meet Papa, an adorable 5 1/2" bear made of two beautifully contrasting types of fur. His head, ears and arms are made of fantastic Japanese mohair in mixed shades of beige, gold and brown. The fur has a straight pile with quite a stringy texture, it is very unusual fur which we have used in the past. We can only obtain it from Hugglets where the Japanese Mohair Company trade and it always makes very special bears. We have combined this with dense, soft, fluffy yellow gold Schulte alpaca tipped in copper. The fur is totally different than the mohair and the two look great together, we have used the alpaca for his body and legs. I really like this style of bear, I think the way we have used the contrast in textures makes him look like he is wearing dungarees! Papa is part of our Mythology Collection, his name means "earth" in Maori and it is of Polynesian culture. He has toning gold ultrasuede pads, brown cashmere paws and a gold stitched nose. He has shiny black English glass eyes and we have filled him with steel shot and steel balls for weight. Isn't he sweet? I do hope that you like him, Papa costs £45 plus postage.
